  1. Prepare 6 - 8 bitter gourd medium sized (karela)

  5. Make ready 1 tbsp garlic paste
  6. Prepare 1 tbsp ginger paste
  7. Get 1 tsp salt
  8. Get 1 tsp chili powder red or to taste
  9. Take 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  10. Take 1 tsp coriander seed crushed
  11. Prepare 2 tbsps chilies chopped green
  12. Make ready 1 serving spoon oil + oil for frying

Sprinkle salt, coat well and leave it for an hour. Wash the bitter gourd thoroughly to remove all the salt and set aside in a colinder to drain. Filling the Kareley (bitter melon or gourd) Fill each Karela (bitter gourd or melon) with cooked qeema (minced meat). Take a clean white kitchen thread and wrap it around the already prepared Kareley (bitter gourd or melon).

  1. Peel the bitter groud. Make a deep cut diagonally and take out the seeds. Add 3 tsp salt to them and let it sit for atleast an hour. Wash them thoroughly and pat dry well.
  2. In one serving spoon oil add 1 onion sliced, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, minced meat and little water. Let it cook until the meat is tenderand oil seperates.
  3. Take out half of the cooked meat and add 1 chopped red onion and green chilies and mix.
  4. Stuff this meat mixture into the bitter gourd and roll a cooking thread around to secure.
  5. Shallow fry the bitter gourd on mediun heat to give a light brown color.
  6. Add these to the left over minced meat and put on dam for few minutes.
  7. Serve with hot chapati.
