Orange rusks is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods in the world. It is enjoyed by millions daily. It is easy, it is fast, it tastes yummy. They are fine and they look fantastic. Orange rusks is something that I have loved my whole life.

To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can have orange rusks using 4 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Orange rusks:
  1. Take 1 cup natural orange juice (250 ml used to measure the rest of the ingredients with)
  2. Prepare 1 cup oil (I use olive oil! If you want it lighter, you can use half a cup olive oil and half a cup of any other oil, e.g. sunflower oil or just some kind of any other oil! It's up to you…)
  3. Get 1 cup sugar (I usually use white sugar, if you want you can use any other kind of sugar with coarser granules, just pass it though a food processor so that it gets as fine as white sugar)
  4. Get About 1 packet of self-rising flour (500 g)

Whisk egg and orange juice together. Add to flour mixture and knead into a soft dough. Spoon the dough into the greased oven pan, or form into small balls which you can place tightly against each other. Blend butter, orange rind, and sugar; spread generously on one side of each slice from a loaf of sandwich bread.

Instructions to make Orange rusks:
  1. Place the orange juice, sugar and oil in a bowl and mix until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Then add the flour and start mixing by hand! (It might need more flour, you will see as you go!) When it no longer sticks to your hand it is ready! But the dough should be a bit firm (a little as it happens with all the rusks!)
  3. Take the dough and divide it into two halves.
  4. Form two sticks and place them in a baking tray lined with greaseprof paper.
  5. Using a knife cut into slices (but not all the way through to the bottom).
  6. Place in the oven at 180°C until they get golden brown! When they do, break them into slices and use the fan in the oven to dry them a little (5 to 10 minutes in my oven, you should check how long it takes in yours)!
