Steps to make Farsi puri:
  1. In a large bowl sieve the flour and add salt, cumin and black pepper. Make a well in the flour and add the melted butter. Add the warm water and make a dough. Add half cup water and gradually add more if required. Dough should be of a stiff consistency. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Knead and make small balls from the dough. Roll a small oblong puri and cut in a rectangle shape. Leaving 1/2 cm on both sides make about 8 to 10 slits. Fold it and press using a little water. Fold again and press again. Make a loop and stretch. See photos to make pan shape. Deep fry on low heat until light golden brown.

Farsi puri is a crispy deep fried Gujarati snack. Generally, farsi puri is made using maida/all purpose flour. But, we have used maida and whole wheat flour in equal proportions.
