  8. Make ready 3-4 tsp oil

  13. Get 4-5 Garlic cloves

Potatoes, tomatoes, green peas all mashed together with spices and lemon and paired with buttery. Pav bhaji is a fast food dish from India consisting of a thick vegetable curry served with a soft bread roll. Vegetables in the curry may include potatoes, onions, carrots, chillies, peas, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Its origins are in the state of Maharashtra.

Steps to make Pav bhaji:
  1. First of all make a powder of kasoori methi and cloves and then mix pav bhaji masala and keep it aside.
  2. Heat a Kadai with half of the oil and then fry all the chopped capsicum, carrots, cauliflower and green peas.
  3. Fry it for sometimes and then add chopped tomatoes and salt and allow it to cook for sometimes.
  4. Add 25gm of the butter in it.
  5. Then add the prepared pav bhaji masala and kasoori methi powder in it.
  6. Mash it well and then add mashed potatoes in it.
  7. Add chilli powder in it and again mash and cook it for sometime. Keep them aside.
  8. Heat Kadai with butter and then add chopped onion in it and saute it well.
  9. Then add ginger garlic paste in it.
  10. When the garlic smell has gone then add chilli powder and remaining half of the masala powder in it.
  11. Add a little water in it and add the mashed vegetables in it and cook it for sometimes and if you need add more water. Cook it till your desired consistency.
  12. Then add chopped coriander leaves and 1/2 tsp butter in it and switch off the flame. - Now your bhaji is ready.
  13. Heat a tawa with butter, pav bhaji masala, chilli powder and chopped coriander leaves and roast the pav in it.
  14. Now your Pav bhaji is ready. Serve hot.

Variants of the dish may use other bread varieties such as chapati, roti or brown bread.. Pav Bhaji is a medley of mashed vegetables simmered in onion tomato gravy, special pav bhaji masala powder and lots of butter. Serve them with Ladi Pav Pav Bhaji bread, a dollop of butter on top of the Bhaji, along with chopped onions and lemon wedges. Some people call is Pau Bhaji, Paav Bhaji, Paav Bhajji, Pav Bhaji Masala. Pav Bhaji is popular Indian street food where dinner rolls/buns are served with spicy mashed veggies topped with dollop of butter.
