  1. Get 1 cup chickpeas
  2. Take 4 tbsp chana dal
  3. Make ready 2 potatoes
  4. Take 1 teaspoon tea leaves
  5. Take 400 gram curd

  7. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon salt

  13. Get 1 tbsp kasuri methi
  14. Get 2 teaspoons ginger paste

  17. Make ready 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  18. Take 1 tbsp garam masala
  19. Take 1 teaspoon dry mango powder
  20. Prepare 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  21. Prepare 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  22. Make ready As per taste Salt

This is a very simple yet very flavourful and tasty recipe. I don't know the origin of it but few years back I saw it or ready it somewhere and I had noted it down in my recipe book so today I am sharing this recipe here. Though I am not a chat person, I absolutely love this dish. Check out this very easy and tasty recipe of a very different chaat from the regular chaats we usually eat.

Instructions to make Darbari Chaat:
  1. First of all wash and soak chickpeas for 6 to 8 hours. When it is soaked, drain the water and put it in a pressure cooker along with chana dal and potatoes cut into pieces. In a piece of cloth put one teaspoon of tea leaves and tie it. Add this to the pressure cooker along with half a cup of water and cook on medium to high heat for 3 to 4 whistles. Let the pressure come down itself.
  2. Now mix curd, powdered sugar and half teaspoon of salt and whisk it nicely. Put this sweet curd in the refrigerator until needed.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add kasuri methi to it. Saute it for 10 seconds and add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste to it and saute it for a minute. Now add turmeric, red chilli powder, dry mango powder, roasted cumin powder, garam masala and salt to it and saute everything for half a minute.
  4. Now add boiled chickpea mixture to it and mix everything well. Add half cup of water and let it boil for 10 minutes on low to medium heat. While it is boiling, mash the potatoes little bit with the back of the spoon. Let it cool down.
  5. To assemble darbari chaat, first add some chickpea mixture in a bowl, top it with some date tamarind chutney and sweet curd. Now add some mixture Vada on top.
  6. Garnish with chopped onion and coriander leaves.
  7. Darbari Chaat is ready to be served.
