The ingredients needed to make pakora:
- Take 1 small
- Prepare 1 large potato
- Get 2 tsp red chilli powder
- Take 2 tsp salt
- Make ready 2 cup chick pea flour
- Get 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Prepare 2 small green chillies
- Get 1 tbsp curry powder
- Make ready 1 spinich (optional)
A traditional pakora is vegetarian and in India that also means no eggs so a traditional pakora would never be made with an egg batter. This recipe is a basic recipe that you can then tweak to make your own by adding cauliflower, spinach, fenugreek leaves or aubergine. Instructions to make pakora:
- preheat oil for frying
- mix all ingridents well
- put mixture in oil with a spoon or hand in desired shape
- fry untill golden brown
- serve with chatny or ketcup
Drain on paper towels before serving. Sift the chickpea flour into a medium bowl. Mix in the coriander, salt, turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala and garlic. Make a well in the centre of the flour. Gradually pour the water into the well and mix to form a thick, smooth batter.
