A Mexican dish of mashed avocado mixed with lemon or lime juice and various seasonings (usually chilli powder and red pepper). Sometimes finely chopped tomato, onion and coriander leaf are added. Once you start making your own guacamole you'll never buy it again! I have made this many many times but with a couple of changes.
Steps to make Guacamole:
- Add all the things together and do anything you want with it.
I don't put in the tomato but I do add extra garlic (at least one extra clove) and a good sized handful of chopped fresh coriander (makes a huge difference). In a medium bowl, mash together the avocados, lime juice, and salt. Mix in onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic. In a pestle and mortar, pound the chillies, coriander, tomatoes, salt and onion to a fine paste. Add a little water and lime juice to make a looser mixture.
