Add the mince and fry until. Heat olive oil in a heavy pan (medium heat). Add the onions, and fry until translucent. Add the beef stock cube, mixed herbs, tinned toms, tom puree.
Instructions to make Bolognese (Tomato & Beef Base):
- Fry garlic, onions, mushrooms, mince alltogether. Add all spices, except bay leaf. Cook for a bit.
- Add crushed tomatoes & Broth mix: Stock, Wine, Vinegar, Worcestershire, Tomato sauce, Water. Add bay leaf. Simmer for 15-20 min. Taste & add spices as needed. Add water as needed.
- Serve with carb choice. Use coriander as garnish.
Peel and finely chop the garlic and onions, pick and finely chop the rosemary, then finely slice the bacon. And my lovely BEST EVER Ragu Bolognese became naught but a memory. Because, a good Bolognese is traditionally made with tomatoes. Turn the heat to high, add the Shiraz. Stir in the green pepper, crushed chillies, black pepper, salt, mixed herbs, oregano, basil and thyme.
